DETROIT, Mich. -- The women's basketball team suffered a tough loss tonight against Indiana Institute of Technology 85-40. The night was bittersweet as it was the seniors' last time playing at the Northwest Activities Center (NWAC).
The Mustangs (3-26, 1-20 WHAC) were led by Elisha Major (SR/Flushing, MI) who finished the game with 22 points, one rebound, and one assist. Major scored her 1,500th career point and was honored at center court at the completion of the game. Kadesha Taylor (JR/Ontario, Canada) tallied six points, threw three rebounds, and earned one steal. Breanna Thomas (SR/San Antonio, TX) scored six points and added three steals.
Overall, the Mustangs shot 24.6% from the field, 20.0% from the three-point range, and 61.5% from the free throw line.
The women's basketball team will travel to Southfield, Michigan this Saturday to face Lawrence Technological University. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
