DETROIT, Mich. -- The Marygrove College men's basketball head coach Craig Covington announced the addition of Ashaunti Dillon to the 2017-18 incoming recruiting class. Dillon signed his National Letter-of-Intent to play men's basketball for the Mustangs next winter.
Ashaunti Dillion is a 6-foot-4 forward from Mumford High School in Detroit, Michigan, located down the street from Marygrove College. He is a perfect definition of a student-athlete and has proved his success off the court after being named to Dean's List, Principal's List, and Honor Roll. On the court, he was named as the team's Most Valuable Player (MVP) and will make an immediate impact for the Mustangs offensively and on the glass.
Craig Covington said after being asked what he feels Dillon brings to the Mustangs team, "Ashaunti gives us a young wing player that will be a valuable asset to the Marygrove program immediately and in the future. He brings a quiet, humble, and hard working ethic to the team. I believe he will become one of the best player's that has ever played for the Mustangs.".
The Mustangs will open up the 2017-18 basketball season on the road, against Villa Maria, on November 3rd, tip-off is TBA.
