USCAA ReleasePictured Above: Highland Park Mayor Hubert Yopp addresses Eric [Johnson] and his mother [Murline Johnson] before a recent home game held in Highland Park. Eric was congratulated for his fine play, while Mayor Yopp remembered Eric's father, Perry Johnson. Before his untimely passing when Eric was an infant, Perry was a police officer helping keep the people of Highland Park safe for over 15 years. A very proud Mayor Yopp was Johnson's partner for several years before eventually climbing ranks in the police department, and eventually Mayor of Highland Park. The brief ceremoney concluded with Mayor Yopp presenting a certificate to Mrs. Murline Johnson on behalf of the City of Highland Park for all of Perry's excellent service to the community.
