DETROIT, Mich.-Friday marked a pair of Ferndale High School signings for the defending national champion women's soccer team. First up was Tina Woods, a recent graduate from the nearby high school. Woods inked her 2010-11 Letter of Intent inside the fitness center at Marygrove College.
Woods comes
to Marygrove after a dominating three years on the pitch for the Eagles of
Ferndale High. As a versatile player, she had the ability to play forward
when her primary duties as the netminder were not needed. Woods also compiled numerous
awards over the course of her three-year career which included: a Daily Tribune
Honorable Mention nomination, team MVP honors (3 years), and a spot on the
All-District Team her sophomore and senior seasons.
Coach Williams on Woods: Tina is an excellent addition that will give our goalies competition. She plays with a tremendous passion for the game that will help us in practice and during the games. I am looking forward to coaching her and the rest of the team in the fall.
