HARRISON TWP., Mich. -- Coach Michael Love signed an important piece to the 2012 puzzle with a commitment from former L'Anse Creuse standout, Shelby Dogariu.
The signing is the
second of the class for a volleyball program that showcase the first full
recruiting class of new head coach Michael Love.
Dogariu, a 5'8"
outside hitter and defensive specialist, made the decision to continue her
academic and athletic career at Marygrove
College in the fall of
2012. The well-rounded student-athlete earned recognition throughout the MAC Red
Conference for her talents on-and-off the court. Most notably, her ability to
excel outside of the gym garnered Dogariu the highest recognition of all when
she was recently named a four-time member of the MAC Red All-Academic Team.
Like most
top-level volleyball players, Dogariu also enjoyed plenty of success at the
club level after earning a spot on Michigan Elite - one of the top clubs in the
area.
Coach Love on Dogariu: Shelby is exactly what we look for in our recruits. Her commitment to the classroom and court alike sets a great example for fellow signees and the future Mustangs to follow her path. Most important is her commitment to family. Shelby, along with her outstanding family, will be another great addition to our volleyball family at Marygrove College in the fall. I look forward to coaching Shelby the next four years.
