GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- On Saturday (Oct. 6), the Mustangs continued their difficult slate of conference matches with a road trip to nationally-ranked Cornerstone University.

The No. 22 ranked Golden Eagles welcomed the Mustangs with a 13-4 overall record and a 3-1 mark in the WHAC. Marygrove came in at 7-10 and 0-3 in conference play.

The highly ranked Golden Eagles would take the first set by a tally of 25-13. The second and third would go in favor of the host Golden Eagles as they topped the Mustangs in straight sets, 13-25, 18-25, and 10-25.

Senior outside hitter Jaci Michetti (Woodhaven, Mich./Wayne State) led all Mustangs in kills with six.

Fellow senior Megan Gohl (Belleville, Mich./Belleville) set up the Mustangs' attack with a team-leading 11 assists.

Shana Tooley (Belleville, Mich./Belleville), also a senior for the Mustangs, led the team in digs with 11.

The Mustangs (7-11; 0-4 WHAC) will return to Grand Rapids Tuesday (Oct. 9) for a tri-match at Kuyper College. First match begins at 4:00pm against the host Cougars. The Mustangs will play Grace Bible College (Mich.) at 6:00pm.
