The match started off on the right foot for the visiting Mustangs on the Warriors senior night. A 26-24 first win sent the Mustangs in the right direction and enabled the team to take a 2-1 lead through three sets.
A close 25-20 set four decision in favor of the host Warriors would send the match to a deciding fifth set.
In the fifth frame, the Mustangs could not withstand the home team's effort as they would fall 9-15 in the deciding set.
Senior setter Megan Gohl (Belleville, Mich./Belleville) became the third Mustang to eclipse the 1,000 dig plateau and join the newly-formed club. The well-rounded senior also has amassed well over 3,000 assists as her four-year career nears its conclusion.
Gohl and the Mustangs get one last chance at the Warriors at this weekend's Aquinas/Cornerstone Collegiate Tournament in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Tomorrow (Oct. 24), the Mustangs hit the road to take on conference foe Concordia University-Ann Arbor at 7:00pm.
