GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Mustangs (10-20; 0-9) ran into tough competition in day two of the Aquinas/Cornerstone Tournament after dropping matches to Grace College (Ind.) and Shawnee State University (Ohio).

Match Three: Grace 3, Marygrove 0 (18-25, 17-25, 17-25)

Kiara Cobbs (Detroit, Mich./King) paced the Mustangs in kills with seven. Megan Gohl (Belleville, Mich./Belleville) had 18 assists, while Elizabeth Lerczak (Hale, Mich./Hale) added nine digs in the loss to open day two play.

Match Four: Shawnee State 3, Marygrove 0 (17-25, 23-25, 9-25)

Cobbs led the Mustangs with another strong performance. The sophomore middle eclipsed the double-digit mark in kills once again with 12. Gohl had the team-high in assists again with 19, with Shana Tooley (Belleville, Mich./Belleville) and Gohl splitting the lead in digs with 10.

On the day, Katharina Hall (Livonia, Mich./Henry Ford CC) had 11 digs and six kills. Alixandria Pappas (St. Clair Shores, Mich./Lakeview), the lone freshman on the team, had another strong outing for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs return home for Senior Night Tuesday (Oct. 30) at 7:00pm when they host the University of Michigan-Dearborn (UD-Jesuit HS). Wear pink clothing to support the team's PINK OUT efforts to support breast cancer awareness.
