DETROIT, Mich. -- Coach Tony Williams and the Mustangs played hard, but continued their streak of unlucky ball as the Siena Heights Saints (10-4-2; 4-3-1) scored a first half goal to win, 1-0.
The loss is the seventh in a row for the young Mustangs (6-11-1; 1-6-1 WHAC) squad as the regular season comes to a close.
Despite the recent losing streak, the Mustangs will be moving forward into the quarterfinals of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) playoffs. The playoff pairings will be announced Sunday (Oct. 28) or Monday (Oct. 29).
Kaitlyn Vigna (China Twp., Mich./Marine City) produced the best scoring chance for the Mustangs when her strike from 22' sailed above the crossbar.
Senior keeper Deanna Lints (Hazel Park, Mich./Hazel Park) turned away six shots in her last regular season game at Marygrove.
After the game, the Mustangs conducted senior day activities to honor their four seniors: Arielle Baraboll (Allen Park, Mich./Schoolcraft), Karlee Derrick (Garden City, Mich./Garden City), [Deanna] Lints, and Jessica Niemi (Swartz Creek, Mich./Swartz Creek).
