DETROIT, Mich. -- The Mustangs (6-8-3; 5-2-3 WHAC) earned a the fifth seed in the eight-team Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. With the No. 5 seed, the Mustangs will travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to take on the No. 4 seed Warriors of Indiana Tech.
The opening-round match is scheduled for a 7:00pm kick Saturday (Nov. 3) at Indiana Tech.
The quarterfinal matchup is arguably one of the more intriguing of the opening round as the Mustangs and Warriors look to settle the score after the pair tied, 1-1, at Marygrove back on Oct. 3. Leading scorer Jordan Berry (Dearborn, Mich./Crestwood) scored the lone Mustang goal on a day where the Mustangs were shorthanded due to an untimely injury bug.
A deep backline combination that consists of Tyler Arban (Garden City, Mich./Garden City), Ysen Dalipi (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Concordia), Moussa Diallo (Conakry, Guinea/Fordson), and Ali El Habhab (Saida, Lebanon/Dearborn), and Chad Lane (St. Clair Shores, Mich./Lakeview) will look to hold the Warriors attack at bay in Saturday's win-or-go-home quarterfinal match.
