KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Mustangs (0-3) played their first NCAA DI opponent of the 2012-13 campaign when they hit the road to take on Mid-American Conference power, Western Michigan University (1-1).

Both teams shot out to a highly competitive first 18 minutes of play before a 7-0 run helped push the Broncos ahead by 12 at the break, 35-23.

The Broncos would continue their torrid scoring streak in the second half to top the Mustangs, 85-40.

The scoring column was balanced for the Mustangs with senior guard Darryl Foster (Southfield, Mich./Missouri Valley College) netting a team-high 10 points.

Fellow senior Cameron Coburn (Bay City, Mich./All Saints) and freshman forward Manny Washington (Dearborn, Mich./Edsel Ford) each tallied seven points in the loss to the favored NCAA D1 opponent.

The Mustangs return home for a Thursday (Nov. 15) double-header that features a United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) showdown when the Mustangs host Andrews University at 7 p.m. A junior varsity game will precede the contest at 5 p.m.
