WESTLAND, Mich. -- The women's basketball program added their first commit of the 2013 class with the signing of Kierra Jordan. The Westland John Glenn senior inked a 2013-14 Letter of Intent to continue her career at Marygrove College next year.

Jordan, a 5'8" forward, committed to Marygrove just ahead of her senior campaign for the Rockets of John Glenn. Last season, Jordan was the Rockets' Rookie of the Year after a strong first season at John Glenn.

Before her junior season, Jordan played one season of varsity basketball at Ann Arbor's Skyline High School. The then-sophomore earned Skyline's "Windex Award" after a season in which the forward was the team's strongest rebounder.

In the AAU circuit, Jordan was a member of All-Michigan – a team that won the 2011 Deep South Classic in North Carolina. Jordan played one year for All-Michigan and two for the Sting.

The standout student-athlete also competes on John Glenn's track & field team.

Comments from John Glenn head coach, Eric Kovatch: Kierra is a great kid! She works hard and is tough as nails. Marygrove received a very good ball player with this signing.

Comments from Marygrove head coach, Antonio Hitchcock: Kierra is a natural basketball player. Having only playing competitively for three years, Kierra has garnered attention from many programs and has proven that she deserves to play at the next level. She comes from a great program at John Glenn and we expect her to be a major contributor as a freshman next season.
