HELENA, Mont. -- The Mustangs (1-5, 0-2 WHAC) finished the program's first trip to the state of Montana with their third game in as many days against NAIA Division I competition. The games and travel proved to be too much for the Mustangs on the court as their final opponent, Carroll College, took a 55-36 decision on Sunday (Nov. 25).

Down only two possessions at the half (24-20), the Mustangs looked primed for an upset bid over a strong Carroll team.

Carroll would come out in the second half and hold the Mustangs to two points in the first five minutes plus to down the Mustangs.

Ciara Moore (Detroit, Mich./Northwestern) netted a team-high13 points for the Mustangs. Keara Marks (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance) added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Despite going 0-for-3 on the trip, the Mustangs made strides off the court as a team from a Thanksgiving dinner to plenty of sightseeing in Montana's Big Sky Country. We will feature a full Montana recap in the coming days.

The team returns home for their WHAC opener against fellow conference newcomer Lawrence Tech at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 28).
