DETROIT, Mich. -- The early season woes continued for the Mustangs (1-8, 0-5 WHAC) as the Wolves of Michigan-Dearborn (3-5, 3-2 WHAC) came into Ford Field House and topped the Mustangs by a final of 71-59.
Down 33-19 at the half, the Mustangs' offense caught fire in the latter frame as the team poured in 40 second half points.
Unfortunately, the 14-point first half deficit was too much to overcome as the Mustangs would only be able to chip away by two points in their 12-point setback.
Ciara Moore (Detroit, Mich./Northwestern) led a balanced Mustang effort with a season-high 18 points. Arielle Edwards (Grand Rapids, Mich./Ottawa Hills) followed with 13 points, while Keara Marks (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance) and Candice Minus (Flint, Mich./Mott CC) scored 12 and 11 respectively for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs have a busy weekend ahead with a road conference tilt at Aquinas College Saturday (Dec. 8) and a non-conference matchup at NCAA DII Southern Indiana on Sunday (Dec. 9). Both games are scheduled for 1 p.m. tipoffs.
