ADRIAN, Mich. -- Down by 20 ten minutes into the game, the Mustangs (2-15, 0-10 WHAC) knew they would be facing a tall task if they wanted to ring up their first WHAC victory against the host Saints of Siena Heights (10-7, 7-4 WHAC).

The Saints, ranked just outside the Top-25, built off the early lead and raced out to a 42-17 halftime lead over the shorthanded Mustangs before eventually taking the contest by a final of 87-36.

For the game, the Saints shot 50% from the floor as opposed to 21% for the Mustangs.

Keara Marks (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance) continued to chip away at the Mustangs' all-time scoring mark with 19 points.

Elisha Major (Flint, Mich./Flushing) would net seven points in the conference setback.

Thirteen different Saints entered the scoring column in the weekday WHAC affair.

The Mustangs will travel to the University of Northwestern Ohio Saturday (Jan. 12) for a 1 p.m. matchup. After the road test, the Mustangs will return home to host conference frontrunner and nationally ranked No. 3 Davenport at 5:30 p.m. on January 16.
