LIMA, Ohio -- After netting 29 points on 9-of-22 shooting and 10-of-13 shooting from the charity stripe, senior forward Keara Marks (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance) now sits within a potential one-game striking distance from the women's basketball all-time scoring record at Marygrove College.
The 29-point effort in the 84-50 conference setback to the Racers of Northwestern Ohio (7-12, 4-7 WHAC) draws Marks to within 31 points of tying Amanda DeGain's all-time scoring mark of 1,324 career points.
The Mustangs (2-16, 0-11 WHAC), with Marks as their only double-digit scorer, had an unlucky night at the rim once again after shooting under 30% against the Racers.
Marks and the Mustangs return to their home hardwood Wednesday (Jan. 16) against national power No. 3 Davenport University at 5:30 p.m.
