Geneva, Ohio -- As it has been all cross country and indoor track & field season, the Mustangs continued to rely on their talented youth as freshmen Mercedesz Brown (Redford, Mich./Thurston) and Devin Willis (Flint, Mich./Carman Ainsworth) enjoyed successful days on the indoor oval.

Brown, running attached for the first time in 2013, entered the 60m dash and finished with a time of 9.43. The freshman cross country and track & field student-athlete also competed in the 400m run and crossed the line at 1:22. The times were good and will continue to get better as the freshman continues to work her legs back under her for the conclusion of indoor season and start of outdoor.

Willis continued to showcase her drive toward season-long improvement as she set a personal record (PR) at the Midwest Open. Willis' time of 8.70 in the 60m was good enough for an all-time record run for the freshman out of Flint.

In the 400m run, Willis hit her stride for a 1:10 finish to conclude her day in Ohio.

The Mustangs will continue their weekly indoor regimen at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University Saturday (Feb. 2).
