DEARBORN, Mich. -- Fresh off an upset defeat of then-NAIA No. 17 Madonna University Saturday (Jan. 26), the Mustangs suffered a setback due in part to an unlucky night from the free throw line. A sluggish start to Tuesday's (Jan. 29) WHAC tilt at UM-Dearborn witnessed the Mustangs going 3-for-17 from the charity stripe in the first half to put the team down 36-30 at the break.

The free throw troubles eventually led to an 80-61 defeat at the hands of the UM-Dearborn Wolves who notched their fifth conference win of the 2012-13 campaign.

The Mustangs (3-21, 3-13 WHAC) were led by freshman Diante Taylor (Battle Creek, Mich./Central) with a game-high 21 points. Taylor would add a well-rounded four assists, three rebounds, three steals and two blocks on the night.

Zamarre Neely (Detroit, Mich./Summit Academy) and Cameron Coburn (Bay City, Mich./All Saints) would also reach double-digits with 12 and 10 points respectively.

UM-Dearborn was led by Jamiel Strickland with 14 points.

The Mustangs shot 40% from the free throw line for the contest after knocking down 9-of-13 in the second stanza.

Aquinas College will travel to Ford Field House for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff Thursday (Jan. 31).
