MARION, Ind. -- With a time of 8.71 in the 60m dash, Devin Willis (Flint, Mich./Carman Ainsworth) fell just shy of tying her previous mark of 8.70 earlier this season. The freshman sprinter's 60m performance was part of one of three events Willis would enter on the day.

Also entering the 200m and 400m runs, Willis would finish both in times of 29:08 and 1:09 respectively. The 29:08 mark in the 200m was good enough for Willis to set a PR as her first collegiate indoor season winds down.

Mercedesz Brown (Redford, Mich./Thurston), running for the second time this semester, entered the same three races as Willis and finished strong all afternoon at Saturday's (Feb. 2) Wildcat Open hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.

In the 60m, Brown crossed the finish line at 9.14. The freshman would also achieve times of 31.41 and 1:16.95 in the 200m and 400m respectively.

Next week, the Mustangs will get one final tune-up before the 2013 WHAC Championships when they visit Grand Valley State University for the annual Big Meet on February 8.
