DETROIT, Mich. -- The pipeline between Marygrove College and Dearborn Crestwood High School continued Monday (Feb. 4) with the signing of local talent Molly Ralko. The Charger, and soon-to-be-Mustang, joins a long line of former Crestwood student-athletes to commit to Marygrove College.
Ralko, a 5'2" setter and defensive specialist, inked a 2013-14 Letter of Intent with Marygrove head coach Jamie Baker and family at her side after completing three successful years as a varsity member for the Chargers. During her time on the volleyball court, Ralko earned Team MVP honors at the conclusion of her freshman and senior campaigns. The outstanding play resulted in a roster spot on Atomic Volleyball Club out of Woodhaven.
The three-sport athlete is currently helping the Chargers on the hardwood as a member of the varsity girls basketball team where she has been a mainstay with the program for three varsity seasons. This spring, Ralko will hit the diamond for Crestwood as a member of the softball team. The upcoming softball season will mark her third as a member of the varsity squad.
Keeping the true meaning of student-athlete in mind, Ralko has been a permanent fixture on the Crestwood Honor Roll after earning a 3.0 or above her entire high school career.
Coach Baker on Ralko: I am excited to have Molly as a part of the Mustang Volleyball Program next year. She will be among a young group of players competing for defensive playing time as a freshman. On top of her defensive skills she brings to the court, Molly also possesses a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. Both attributes make her a perfect fit for our program.
