Women's Indoor Track & Field - Fri, Feb. 15, 2013

DETROIT, Mich. – The Mustangs indoor track & field team has been anchored by two freshmen throughout the team's first season in the talent-laden Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). The freshmen, Mercedesz Brown (Redford, Mich./Thurston) and Devin Willis (Flint, Mich./Carman Ainsworth), are hopeful to have career days in their inaugural trip to the WHAC's Indoor Championships this weekend in Angola, Indiana.

Brown, a two-sport student-athlete excelling in cross country and track, will likely enter the 400m tomorrow against a loaded field. The freshman looks to shave seconds of her previous time as she continues to gain valuable experience against the region's top competition.

Willis, also a two-sport student-athlete in cross country and track, will enter a pair of events in the 60m and 400m. Willis will join Brown as the duo looks to take over the track in the 400m. In the 60m, Willis will look to build off her PR time of 8.70 set weeks ago at the Midwest Open.

A full recap of the Mustangs first trip to the WHAC Indoor Championships will hit www.MarygroveMustangs.com later this weekend.
