ANGOLA, Ind. -- The women's indoor season concluded Saturday (Feb. 16) at the WHAC Indoor Championships. Once again, freshman Devin Willis (Flint, Mich./Carman Ainsworth) led the Mustangs as she entered the 60m and 400m events.
In the 60m, Willis crossed the finish line at an 8.82 clip. The time was good for 19th place in a field of 20 from six other schools in the conference. The 8.82 finish at the conference championship event was .12 off Willis' PR set earlier this season at the Midwest Open.
Willis' 400m effort of 1:09.23 was enough to fend off a pair of other WHAC hopefuls as the freshman would finish 16th in a loaded field.
Willis and the Mustangs will now set their sights on outdoor season. The first event of the 2013 outdoor season is slated for March 29 at the Grand Rapids Open.
