DETROIT, Mich. -- Sophomore dual-sport student-athlete Robert Crockett (Detroit, Mich./King) was recently named to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Champions of Character Team. The honor came at the end of the WHAC's Indoor Championships held at Trine University on Feb. 16.
Crockett, a standout student-athlete on and off the track, was named to the Champions of Character Team by head coach LaCema Womack after a season in which Robert best represented the NAIA's Five Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Servant Leadership, and Sportsmanship.
The sophomore cross country and track & field standout's honor comes at the end of a successful indoor campaign. Crockett would set a PR in the mile after crossing the finish line with a time of 4:49 at the Mike Lints Open hosted by Grand Valley State University. He would go on to set a PR in the 800m at GVSU that day as well.
