DETROIT, Mich. -- John Tersigni, head coach of the newly introduced men's lacrosse program at Marygrove College, will welcome two local high schools – Utica Eisenhower and Warren De La Salle – to take part in the inaugural Marygrove Lacrosse Classic Saturday (04/13) on the College's Northwest Detroit campus.
The challenge will play host to a matinee mash-up of action featuring a junior varsity-B,junior varsity-A, and varsity contest between the schools beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Marygrove will offer free admission to the public as part of a day full of celebration surrounding their new program and the talented local programs visiting campus. Marygrove Lacrosse Classic t-shirts will be on sale beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the concessions stand on the south side of the field.
Operating as a varsity program, Marygrove's addition of men's lacrosse offers a breath of fresh air to a sport that is typically ran as a club at many levels. The varsity status will make men's lacrosse Marygrove's 14th intercollegiate varsity sport and will offer student-athletes competitive academic and athletic scholarships.
Marygrove College Athletics is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The athletic program recently completed their first season Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) – a conference that will boast a minimum of six men's lacrosse programs heading into the 2013-14 season.
