YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Once again, second year head coach LaCema Womack relied on her lone attached women's team member, Devin Willis (Flint, Mich./Carman Ainsworth), to post strong times against some of the region's top competition. Willis, a freshman out of Flint, Mich., entered the 200m and 400m races during day 2 of the Eastern Michigan University Twilight Invite.
In the 200m, the freshman clocked in at 29.56 in the midst of a loaded heat. Willis' time was just shy of her previous outdoor mark of 29.07 in the 200m event. The 29.07 mark was set at the 2013 outdoor season opener in Toledo, Ohio.
Willis also entered the 400m and finished at a 1:10 clip – good for her top outdoor time of the season and seconds off her indoor pace set earlier in 2013.
Next week, Willis and the Mustangs will head to Hillsdale to take part in the Gina Relays.
