SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- A strong second half surge by the host Lawrence Tech Blue Devils (4-2; 3-1 WHAC) would be enough to put away the Mustangs (2-5; 0-4 WHAC) by a 68-46 final Tuesday (Nov. 26) inside LTU's Don Ridler Field House. Down 33-21 at the half, Marygrove was in need of a great start to the second stanza. Instead, Lawrence Tech opened the latter half on an 18-7 run to put the game out of reach.

The Mustangs could not get enough buckets to fall as they shot 15-of-62 (24%) compared to Lawrence Tech's 24-of-58 (41%) effort.  Many of the Blue Devils' shots came from easy distance as they won the points in the paint battle, 40-26. The 14-point advantage on the block, combined with the early second half run, dropped the Mustangs to 0-4 in WHAC play and 2-5 overall.

A balanced scoring effort was led by junior guard Raeha Weaver (Battle Creek, Mich./Kellogg CC) with nine points. Weaver, an active guard, snagged seven rebounds and had three steals in 27 minutes.

Kierra Jordan (Westland, Mich./John Glenn) and Arielle Edwards (Grand Rapids, Mich./Ottawa Hills) each tallied seven points on a night where no Mustang reached double figures in scoring. Jordan, a freshman forward, grabbed six rebounds in a well-rounded effort.

Ciara Moore (Detroit, Mich./Northwestern) and Shawnicka Thomas (Detroit, Mich./Schoolcraft College) dropped in six points each for the Mustangs.

Lawrence Tech was led by Allison Bicknell with 14 points.

The Mustangs will be back in action Wednesday (Nov. 27) at NCAA Division II Saginaw Valley State University. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. in University Center, Mich.
