
This is Karen Graves first year at Marygrove College. Coach Graves
is looking forward to the challenge of starting and developing the
volleyball program into a nationally competitive program at the NAIA and USCAA level.
Graves played volleyball for four years at Concordia University Ann Arbor, under the tutelage of Coach Kim Berrington, who is now the Head Women's Coach at Eastern Michigan University. Coach Graves had a successful playing career at Concordia, where she earned many accolades, including WHAC Player of the Year, 4-time, First Team All-WHAC, NCCAA All-American, 2-time NAIA Great Lakes Region All-Second Team, NAIA, NCCAA, and WHAC All-Academic, 4-time captain, multiple all-tournament teams, as well as 7th in NAIA for service aces.
After having coached at various levels, Graves took a break from the volleyball arena to attend Wayne State University Law School where she earned her Juris Doctorate. After becoming licensed to practice law in 2004, Coach Graves recently started her own law firm, practicing general law.
Coach Graves resides in Belleville with her husband Carl, who is the Women's Basketball Coach at Madonna University, along with their twin boys, James and Jeffrey born in December 2007.
