Jalissa had a breakout performance at the 2009 Marygrove College Volleyball Invitational. After helping her team win the first two games of the day, Jalissa willed her team to victory against Indiana University-Northwest. The impressive performace earned Marygrove College Invitational Co-MVP honors. Teammate Shannon Pietruszka would complete the other half of the Co-MVP puzzle. The Mustangs made it to the championship match and finished in 2nd place at the inaugural invitational.
