Lee Shaw will lead the Mustangs into the inaugural season of men's and women's cross country. Shaw's vision is for the mustangs to become one of the premier programs in the NAIA and USCAA under his guidance.
Shaw brings a wealth of experience both as a coach and former standout distance runner at Siena Heights University and Eastern Michigan University. Since leaving Eastern, he has held three coaching positions; Livonia Ladywood ('99-'01), University of Detroit Jesuit High School ('01-'02) and Plymouth High School ('02-'08).
A native of Manchester, England, Shaw came over to the United States as a scholarship distance runner at both Siena Heights and Eastern Michigan University. He earned All-American status while running at Siena Heights in 1995. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1999 after being coached by legendary collegiate coach Bob Parks. While his running days are far behind him, Shaw says he still likes to run, just not as fast as he use to.
Shaw and his wife Melissa live in Livonia with their daughter, Brooke and son, Lucas.
