FORT WAYNE, Ind.-The Warriors of Indiana Tech welcomed the Mustangs as part of the four-team 2010-11 SportONE Shootout. The Mustangs drew tournament host Indiana Tech on day one before playing a tough Taylor University squad for a Saturday matinee neutral court battle.
On Friday, the Mustangs battled tough with a well-balanced Warrior team before falling 88-73. Keara Marks (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance) paced the Stangs with 18 points. Saturday, the Trojans (Taylor University) showed why they are consistently considered one of the nation’s top NAIA programs with an 88-46 win over the Mustangs. Marks once again led the Mustangs with 13 points.
The Mustangs will stay on the road for a few more games before finally hosting their first contest of the year Dec. 1 against Rochester College (6pm). Before they can return home, the Mustangs must first travel to UM-Dearborn on the 11/23, head to the University of Indianapolis on the 11/26 & 27 and finally travel to Berrien Springs to take on Andrews University on the 29th.
