Former Foley Star Inks with Mustangs

DETROIT, MI–Glen Donahue added another prized recruit to the 2009 class on Thursday afternoon with the signing of a local star. Former Foley standout Chris Sinagoga committed to the Mustangs after being heavily recruited by the men’s basketball coaching staff. He will join two other student-athletes (women’s soccer) that make the Bishop Foley-to-Marygrove jump this fall.

Sinagoga, a 6′ versatile point guard, comes to Marygrove with previous college basketball experience. Last year, he hit the hardwood for NCAA Division III Albion College. After a brief stay, he decided to come back home and play for the local Mustangs. Sinagoga made the most of his days on the court during high school where he earned All-Area Dream Team and All-Metro Third Team honors, while averaging 17 points, six rebounds and six assists per game. The battletested guard also helped lead his team to Quarterfinals as a sophomore and Regionals as a senior.

Sinagoga signed the letter of intent with his aunt (Marygrove Science/Mathematics Co-Chair) Dr. Jeanne Andreoli at his side. Dr. Andreoli has been the Co-Chair of the Department for three years and has served 12 years overall at Marygrove College. The signing brings a whole new meaning to the term “Mustang Family.”

Coach Donahue on Sinagoga: Chris was one of our top recruits last season and we are pleased to have him in our program. He has remarkable skills from the guard position and is a solid defensive player. He is working hard this offseason and I expect him to make a splash this upcoming season.
